Michelle Webb is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (lic. #86960), a registered art therapist (ATR), and a certified Daring Way™ facilitator based in Calabasas, California. Michelle originally began her professional life as a graphic designer, a career that gave her an avenue for creative expression, opportunities for problem-solving, and experience working with a diverse clientele.

As Michelle and her husband began parenting their three children—whose temperaments range from willing to willful—her curiosity and passion for individual and family dynamics grew. She decided to pursue an advanced degree in counseling, earning her Master of Psychology in marriage and family therapy/art therapy from Phillips Graduate University, where she concentrated on the latest research in neuroscience, attachment, family systems, and art therapy. Her passion for growth and learning led her to expand her clinical knowledge, experience, and competency into the areas of shame resilience, sensorimotor psychotherapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).

Michelle considers herself a “lifespan therapist.” Her clinical experience began with preschool clients and their parents at a Head Start program, progressed through school-based placements in an elementary school, a middle school, and a high school, and led to working with individuals in early and middle adulthood. Her work with children gives her a unique understanding of the way childhood experiences and relationships shape the adults we become. Michelle currently shares her learnings and passion for the profession as a clinical supervisor with trainees and associates at the Simi Valley Free Clinic and in private practice.

Michelle’s work as a child, adolescent, adult, and family therapist perfectly integrates her highest values: family, creativity, and growth. She believes that people are doing the best they can and are capable of more, that we have the opportunity to grow and change at any age, and that weaknesses, reframed or recalibrated, can become strengths.
